This is the Floor Family Round Barn
that was built in 1918. It was recently
purchased by Mike and Georgianna Hileman
and is currently undergoing an extensive,
period correct restoration. The new
owners have had the entire roof removed,
the structure straightened and then
reattached the original roof. They
have replaced the windows with correct
wood-framed windows. They've been
able to reuse nearly 90% of the original
wood. Most of what has been replaced
are the doors, the lower cladding on the
northwest side of the barn and the cupola.
They were even lucky enough to find
the correct door track for this barn from
a donor barn. The framing and
exterior restoration work was completed by
Amish craftsmen. Considering they
started on it in April they are coming
along very well.
